PSAT: Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test The PSAT measures a student's ability to do college work. The PSAT is a short form of the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) and measures verbal, math and writing skills. It's recommended that you take the PSAT as a junior or sophomore in high school. The PSAT is also the qualifying test for a scholarship competition for juniors called the National Merit Scholarship. The PSAT is not used for college admissions. ASVAB: Armed Services Vocational Aptitude BatteryThe ASVAB is an interest inventory test sponsored by the U.S. Military. The test helps students match their interests and abilities with careers in the the military and civilian worlds. The ASVAB is available for juniors and seniors at no cost through military recruiters. Illini Bluffs is not offering the ASVAB on campus at this time.
